Thirty Eight Point Two

My grand total for the week was 3.8 miles.  What's even more impressive is that I did it in one shot.  I know it's futile to try to keep big news like this a secret, so I'm not even gonna try . . . feel free to tell your friends.

On the way back from this short ride, I passed through Manito Park and discovered that the city has filled in the bowl that I always thought would be a great site for a community pump track.  The thing is, all this fresh, soft dirt would make the job that much easier.  Huh, how 'bout that.  If only it weren't for the minor problem of not having permission to tear up property that doesn't belong to you with shovels and pick axes.  Or more precisely, the minor problem of not having permission and getting caught tearing up property that doesn't belong to you with shovels and pick axes.  A full moon, middle of the night pump track build party was the daydream that serenaded me on the short ride home.

Pat: as you know, it's the quality of miles that really matters. I've been watching them fuss with our pump track at Manito for the last few weeks. bummer.
